Solutions

Solutions ( http://solutions.kenbannister.com ) is a specialized consulting agency which brings together under my leadership a decentralized team of people with a range of skills that aims to help companies make the most of the Web and I.T.

Solutions as a consulting agency and "creative studio" offers a
'no-fuss' and results-oriented consulting style focused on leveraging the Web and I.T. to explore or solve concrete business problems.

Our current target is small and medium sized businesses in Mexico and Latin-America primarily because of the team's presence in this market but also because of the opportunities presented in 'bridging the language barrier' by "translating" and adapting the ideas behind Web 2.0 to the particular needs of businesses in the regions.

We take on any kind of work focusing on 3 broad categories of services: (with plans to add a fourth category relating to services for individuals.)

  • Website, Web App and Web Service design and development.
  • Consulting in New Media, PR 2.0 and Web Marketing.
  • General Web and I.T. consulting.

Undergrad. Degree

I am pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration at ITESM (Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) at the Cuernavaca Campus.

Other highlights are mentioned in my Resume.

I have plans to continue my education through an MBA after graduation.

Investing

Investing in stocks and other securities is my principal long-term project. The investment style I practice is mainly growth with some emphasis on value.

Reading about investing and valuation, as well as analysing and picking stocks for current and future investments is a passion.

My current broker is Zecco Trading. They offer 10 free trades a month for accounts with $2,500 or more, and each trade after that is $4.50.

Baby Boomer Stocks

In 2007 I started a personal investing project that grew out of my main investing activities. The gist of the project is finding investment opportunities in the retiring baby boomer demographic.

Project aims:

  1. Research, study, and identify the needs of retired and retiring baby boomers.
  2. Profile companies that at present or in the future will be best positioned to fulfill the identified needs.
  3. Develop an investing strategy that focuses on those companies.

Facts about U.S. baby boomers:

  • Those born between 1946 and 1964 are considered boomers.
  • In 2005 there were an estimated 78.2 million baby boomers.
  • 2030 is the year when all boomers will be past the retirement age of 65, approximately 57.8 million people.
  • 2.1 will be the number of workers for each Social Security beneficiary in 2030, there are currently 3.3 (2008).
